The name Aji comes from the indigenous peoples of the Americas. Amarillo is the Spanish word for yellow, “Aji” means chili. The plant was already cultivated by the Incas 4,500 years ago. The plants can be grown in containers and kept indoors. In summer, they can stand in large planters on balconies and terraces. Ripe chilies have a medium heat of up to 5,000 Scoville and an aromatic, fruity flavour.
