Bhut Jolokia chilies are among the hottest chilies in the world. This variety originally comes from north-east India. It is also known as Naga Bhut Jolokia or ghost pepper. It is classified as Capsicum chinense, although it is a cross between Capsicum chinense and Capsicum frutescens.

From 2006 to 2012 it was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the hottest chili in the world, with more than 1,000,000 SHU. The plant grows about 1.20 m tall but can stay shorter depending on the pot. Bhut Jolokia are very productive when well cared for. The fruits are very hot but also very aromatic. They have a wavy surface and grow 5 to 8 cm long. They ripen from green to red or, in other varieties, from green to orange, brown or ivory. Naga Bhut Jolokia Chocolate chili seeds, 10 pcs.

They need a lot of warmth when growing, and the pods have a very long ripening period, so up to 160 days can pass from sowing to harvest. Please always wear disposable gloves when handling the pods. Soak the seeds in chamomile tea before sowing to disinfect them.

After sowing, keep the substrate moist at all times and do not let the temperature drop below 25°C. Temperatures of 26°C to 32°C are ideal. It usually takes up to 5 weeks for the first seedlings to appear. It can take five to six months from sowing to ripe fruit.
